Adrielle Huntley ll 19 ll District Eight ll Melissa Benoist ll Taken

Dark Side: Though she tries to keep a smile on her face Adrielle is very lonely now her family is gone and feels like she doesn’t have a place in the world. She’s a wanderer with very little to her name and feels like she has very little to offer. 

To the untrained eye, Adrielle (also known as Elle) seemed as innocent as a person living in Panem could be. Her older brothers took tesserae so that she didn’t have to and by some miracle no one in her family was reaped. They made sure she had as carefree a life as she could and she was quite happy as she grew up, though she did begin work as a dressmaker young. Then came the war. Her brothers rebelled, though they wouldn’t allow her to join them and when the first, large factory was blown up she lost her whole family in one swoop. Devastated, she contributed what little she could to the war efforts and now that it’s all over she’s searching for her place. Most of her friends were lost and although she tries to stay positive she’s lonely in a big, wide world.

Dark Side: Neylan is cynical about the world and now that she’s been shunned by her family she’ll do anything for self preservation, even using people. The whole world saw her sleep with her district partner and then kill him so she feels like no one wants to know her any more and she just can’t bring herself to care. It’s lonely sometimes though and it doesn’t matter how many guys she sleeps with she can’t find a way to feel like someone cares again. Not the way the boy she killed did.

Like most people in District One, Neylan Tryne was trained almost from birth to take her place in the games. When the time called for her to step up she did… and she won. In doing so she lost a part of herself, betraying her own district partner in the end. After calling a truce that would last until morning, the two slept together and then while he slept, Neylan slit his throat. Coming home she expected to be celebrated but instead her family shunned her for winning the way she did. They said she had no honour. But she knows if she hadn’t done what she did, she’d be dead right now. Self preservation, that’s the goal
